Fake loan-waiver campaign scam in India

How this scam works

Ads or agents promise to get your bank loan 'waived' for a service fee; RBI has cautioned these entities have no authority to waive loans.

• 'Debt relief certificate' offered
• Told to stop paying your bank

If you're targeted

1. Don't pay, don't share OTPs or PINs, and don't install any app they suggest.
2. If money was sent, call your bank and then 1930 within the first hour — quick reporting gives the best chance of freezing the money.
3. File a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in and keep screenshots and payment details as evidence.
