Fake KYC update scam in India

How this scam works

An SMS or call says your bank account, SIM or wallet will be blocked unless you 'update KYC' through a link or app.

If you're targeted

1. Don't pay, don't share OTPs or PINs, and don't install any app they suggest.
2. If money was sent, call your bank and then 1930 within the first hour — quick reporting gives the best chance of freezing the money.
3. File a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in and keep screenshots and payment details as evidence.
