Stock / IPO tips investment group scam in India

How this scam works

Victims are added to WhatsApp 'stock tips' groups and told to trade on a fake app showing huge profits that can never be withdrawn.

• Guaranteed or very high returns
• App not registered with SEBI
• Withdrawal needs extra 'tax' or fee

If you're targeted

1. Don't pay, don't share OTPs or PINs, and don't install any app they suggest.
2. If money was sent, call your bank and then 1930 within the first hour — quick reporting gives the best chance of freezing the money.
3. File a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in and keep screenshots and payment details as evidence.
