How this scam works
Letters in the name of a ministry say a Mudra or government loan is approved and ask for a stamp-duty or processing charge first.

Warning signs
- Loan 'approved' without applying
- Advance processing or stamp fee
- Ministry letterhead sent over WhatsApp
If you're targeted
- Don't pay, don't share OTPs or PINs, and don't install any app they suggest.
- If money was sent, call your bank and then 1930 within the first hour — quick reporting gives the best chance of freezing the money.
- File a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in and keep screenshots and payment details as evidence.
