Courier / parcel held scam scam in India

How this scam works

A message or IVR call says a FedEx, DHL or India Post parcel is held and asks for a small fee or 'press 1' to talk to an agent.

Warning signs

• Small redelivery or customs fee
• Tracking link on an odd domain
• IVR asking to press a key

If you're targeted

1. Don't pay, don't share OTPs or PINs, and don't install any app they suggest.
2. If money was sent, call your bank and then 1930 within the first hour — quick reporting gives the best chance of freezing the money.
3. File a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in and keep screenshots and payment details as evidence.
